A 21-year-old man who was killed in a car crash in Purleigh has been named, as his family paid tribute to their “brave, strong, intelligent, and much-loved son”.
Thomas Chapman, from Brentwood, was the passenger in a vehicle that crashed in Hackmans Lane at around 2am on Monday 6 January. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a tribute shared by Essex Police, Thomas’ family said he will be “missed beyond measure but forever remembered”.
They added: “There are not enough words to describe Tom.
“He was brave, strong, intelligent, funny, kind, stylish, adventurous, playful, charismatic, compassionate, sporty, spirited, handsome, protective, thoughtful, captivating, loyal, determined, ambitious, resilient, compelling, unique, eternal.
“Aged just 21, Tom graced the world with an infectious smile and energy for life, touching hearts and making an impact wherever he went.
“He was filled with energy and ambition, and had planned to work and travel overseas.”
Described as “an avid sportsman and footballer”, Thomas recently completed a Tough Mudder obstacle course in aid of a national charity.
“Above all, Tom was a good and kind man who loved and protected the people in life,” his family said.
A GoFundMe has been set up by Thomas' family, to raise money for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation in his memory. It shattered its £1,000 target in just over a week, raising £12,455 at the time of writing.
