Spook-tacular fun - Caroline Coastal presenters Ian Crisp, Rich Lyman, Ben Shahrabi, Joshua Holmes-Bright, Howard Jardine, Geoff Vote, Tim Davis, Ellie Boyce and Laura Pursey hosted the quiz.
MASTERMINDS and pub quiz novices put their brains to the test in aid of the Maldon District’s community radio station, with £500 in prizes up for grabs.

Caroline Coastal FM held a Halloween-themed quiz night at the Blue Boar Hotel in Silver Street, Maldon, last Friday (October 18).

Businesses and presenters donated a total of £500 in raffle prizes especially for the event, which saw more than 50 people take part.

Assistant station manager Joshua Holmes-Bright described it as “a huge success”.

He said: “It’s all thanks to the pub staff, the team at the station, and the listeners who came along in numbers to raise money for their local radio station.

“Thanks also to the local businesses who donated vouchers and prizes for our raffle, which had a total prize value of £500!

“That meant we were able to raise extra funds to keep us broadcasting across the Maldon District and along the Essex coast.”

Radio presenters set the questions for each round of the quiz, which ranged from “80s and 90s music” to the “history of Maldon”

Chloe Quye, manager at the Blue Boar, said: “It was great to host Caroline Coastal’s Halloween quiz.

“Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we welcomed lots of new faces.”
