A “hugely exciting” new tourist attraction will bring in families from across Essex and boost the local economy, the MP for Maldon has said.
Sir John Whittingdale visited the newly opened dinosaur adventure park at Marsh Farm on Friday, where he was welcomed by owner James Sinclair.
The family attraction, in South Woodham Ferrers, is preparing to welcome thousands of children over May half term.
Sir John, who served as Tourism Minister last year, said: “It’s hugely exciting.
“James has invested a lot of money into creating some really strong attractions. Kids love dinosaurs.”
The MP hopes the latest addition to Marsh Farm will provide “a fun day for many people”.
He added: “This will attract not just people from South Woodham or Chelmsford, but large numbers from quite a wide area.
“That’s good for our local economy, so I think it’s really positive.”
James Sinclair thanked Sir John for his visit, adding: “Support from people like Sir John is hugely appreciated.”
Marsh Farm unveiled its £1.2 million dinosaur park on May 16, when it was officially opened by the new Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Janette Potter.
The newest attraction joins a maze, indoor climbing frame, carousel, and farmyard animals. Llamas, donkeys, and alpacas can also be found on-site, with opportunities for children to get up close to them.
Special half term activities will be taking place this week, until Sunday.
