SOUL LEGENDS are gearing up to return to Maldon next summer, as hitmakers Shalamar have praised the “amazing reception” from the Essex crowd.

Members of Earth, Wind & Fire and the Doobie Brothers have joined Shalamar and The Real Thing on the line-up, as a whole host of iconic funk and soul artists take the stage for Soultasia at Promenade Park in June 2025.

Speaking exclusively to Caroline Coastal, Shalamar have shared their excitement ahead of their second trip to the district.

A spokesperson for the band, which boasts four UK top ten singles including ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, said: “We are really looking forward to returning to Maldon.

“Our last visit was in 2022, and we had an amazing reception from the Essex crowd. They’ve have always been among our greatest supporters.

“We will be bringing the A-game as always and look forward to making everybody dance.

Since Soultasia began in 2020, it has brought hugely popular artists to the Maldon District, including The Jacksons, Tony Hadley, Billy Ocean and Lisa Stansfield.

Next year, the line-up will also include 80's jazz funk band Shakatak, ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing’ singers Incognito, and celebrated Luther Vandross tribute Harry Cambridge.

Organiser Steve Cochrane told Caroline Coastal his team is “massively excited” about the upcoming festival.

He said: “Now in its fifth phenomenal year, this event is going to be really special.

“The people of Maldon and the surrounding areas have always been supportive since day one and got behind the event, which now has a regular attendance of over 10,000 each year.

“We try to always keep the ticket price as low as possible, while similar events across the UK charge double what we do. We aim to give people good value with a brilliant line up of some of the world's biggest soul and disco artists.”
