A LARGE BLAZE at a farm in Burnham has seen fire crews from across the county sent to tackle it, amid fears it could spread.
Firefighters are currently at the scene of a large fire at an industrial building at Dammerwick Farm, off Marsh Road.
Residents have reported seeing “up to 15 fire engines” as crews from Maldon, Basildon, Southend and Rochford and other Essex stations attend the scene.
An eyewitness told Caroline Coastal: “It looks like a number of industrial units are well alight.
“There are multiple fire engines onsite trying to save adjoining buildings from catching fire.”
The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has warned neighbouring residents to “keep windows and doors shut” due to the smoke seen billowing from the blaze.
A spokesperson said: “Crews are working to surround the fire.
“There is a lot of smoke coming from the scene. If you are in the nearby area, please keep all your windows and doors shut.”
This is a developing story. Updates to follow.
